The Haunts of Mackinac.  This is a custom guided haunted history tour in and around the thoroughfares and byways of the Island where mysterious events have occurred.  Listen to tales of haunted houses and Island legends steeped in history as told by knowledgeable guides. More than history, its a journey into the unknown. Who are the ghosts of Mackinac?  What secrets are they hiding?  Perhaps this year they will divulge their century-old mysteries. Mackinac Island Butterfly House, located behind Ste. Anne’s church, is open daily from 10 am until 7pm. Butterflies of all sizes, colors and varieties fly freely inside the beautiful enclosed garden, accompanied by soothing music, gently falling water and the scent of flowers. The exhibit displays specimens from tropical areas around the world.  Also see the Insect World Display, where you’ll be amazed at the size of specimens from exotic regions. An added feature is the Butterfly Gift Shop where gift certificates are available. 




 

 Stu Stuart’s Live Comedy Show is clever, witty, family friendly and guaranteed to entertain you. It’s full of funny antedotes about life on Mackinac and his  improvised style means no two shows are exactly alike.  Stu is a professional comedian and has appeared on Comedy Central and XM/Sirius Radio. The Haunted Theater. The Paris Opera spawned the original Phantom of the Opera in 1920.  The Phantom specter breathes again. He stands at the top of the staircase beckoning visitors inside for his demonic apparitions.  Be entertained by OCRYX who reveals spirits of the past that continue to haunt the present.  The beautiful Angelique’s willful ambition to become a star touches upon evil mischief and her ultimate downfall. Mackinac State Historic Park

Mackinac's "Living History" Museums offer spirited re-enactments, authentic buildings and colorful charactors of old. Fort Mackinac and several historic downtown buildings located on Mackinac Island. Colonial Michilimackinac, Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse, and Historic Mill Creek are located on the mainland in Mackinac City. 231-436-4100






The Richard and Jane Manoogian Mackinac Art Museum 

Three level art museum is designed to showcase historic treasures from Mackinac State Historic Parks’ collection and contemporary masterpieces. Stuart House Museum 

In the early 1800s, French and American voyagers came to the Island to sell animal furs trapped throughout Canada and Michigan. John Jacob Astors American Fur Trading Company set up its operation on Mackinac Island in the Stuart House. This outpost helped make the midwest and Great Lakes a major trade center.
